Working Trials for Dogs

Working Trials is often referred to as the Creme de la Creme of all dog sports or the equivalent of equine three day eventing,  such is the calibre of the training standard required to perform all 11 of the separate disciplines in competition.  Trials date back to the early 1920’s when the Associated Sheep, Police and Army Dog Society organised the first event, which was designed to test the ability of working dogs.

Working Trials Training sections consist of :

Control : Heelwork on and off lead, sit & down stays, retrieve, send away and recall

Nosework:  Find & retrieve small articles from a 25m search square

Tracking: follow a track laid by a human locating several small articles laid down.

Agility:  Clear jump, Long Jump, Scale

Our classes are for everybody and all breeds – anyone can have a go and we run beginners & advanced classes on Wednesdays at 10.30am and 2pm with our WT Instructor Sharon Chamberlin.
