Feeling overwhelmed by your Dobermann?
Your path to a better life together starts here
Are you feeling overwhelmed by your Dobermann? All you want to do is go for a nice, chilled walk, let your dog run freely or to see them playing nicely with doggy pals-but if you’re here, that’s probably not your reality.
Does any of this feel familiar?
- Your Dobermann turns into a whirlwind when visitors come over, leaving chaos in their wake
- Walks feel like you’ve been hit by a truck – frustrating, stressful, and never what you hoped for
- The lead makes your dog more reactive, but you’re terrified of letting them off, unsure of what might happen
- Your Dobermann spins, barks, and screeches in a frenzy – like the Tasmanian devil on a rampage when passing other dogs
- Their wild, over-the-top play style can quickly spiral into trouble, leaving them labeled as the “bad dog”, even when their intentions are good
You’ve probably tried everything from online advice groups to expensive gadgets, but nothing seems to work, in fact…they might be making things worse!
Tired of the wild ride? Find calm with our specialist help
Better than face to face training
“You don’t want to miss this. Dobercademy is one of the best places for all dogs, but especially Dobermans. The care, love and attention you and your dog get from her is beyond what you get from most places that you go to face to face.” ~ Dominique
Dobermans are special
At Dobercademy, we understand the unique needs of Dobermans. They’re not like other dogs. They’re driven, opinionated, and they’ve got big feelings, in a big body.
These intelligent, alert, and driven dogs can easily become over-aroused, especially in high-stress environments. But that doesn’t mean they can’t learn to manage their big feelings, and neither does it mean you have to live in constant stress and anxiety.
A membership tailored for big feelings & big results
This programme is designed to help Dobermann owners like you redirect that energy and drive into positive, relationship-building activities.
Through kind, knowledge-based training, we’ll help you understand what’s triggering your dog’s reactions and provide you with the tools to address these behaviours at their root.
The result? A calm, well-behaved Dobermann and a stronger, more enjoyable bond between you both.
The best decision we made
“Signing up to Sharon’s reactivity course was the best decision we made. Dexter’s reactivity levels have reduced significantly in such a short time he’s like a different dog. Our walks & day to day life are so much more enjoyable thanks to the skills we’ve learnt so far” ~ Alison
Calm the Chaos: Take control of your walks and your life
What a dog practises most will become his best performance
Reactivity usually stems from fear, frustration, or over-arousal. And if these emotions are repeatedly practiced, your Dobermann’s reactivity will only intensify. Think of it like walking a footpath. If you regularly walk down the same path, it becomes easier and easier to follow. The grass on either side dies, and a clear path forms. But if you want to switch paths, you need to walk on the new path more than the old one.
The trick is to focus on the right behaviours:
● Walk down the new path often, and the old one will gradually disappear.
● Keep practicing the behaviours you want your dog to master, rather than the ones
you don’t.
● Over time, the new path will become the easier one to follow.
“What we want is to keep walking the new path – practicing the right behaviours – until they
become second nature.”
— Sharon Chamberlain, Founder of Dobercademy
From chaos to calm - it is possible!
Changing your mindset and the habits you practice every day will be key. The first step? Learning to observe and understand your dog.
You might have a reactive dog, but you also have a privilege – the chance to deepen your bond and learn more than you ever could with an easier-going dog.
If you learn to understand, observe & work with your beautiful reactive Dobermann, you’ll experience a relationship so enriching & unlike any other you’ve had before.
Kindness & understanding works
“It works! Sharon’s training absolutely works through kindness and understanding, there is NO need for other more controlling methods.
We are now walking on a simple harness after discovering the other options were actually contributing to his reactivity and he was associating the corrections with seeing the other dogs. Now he can look at things and doesn’t anticipate a negative correction and so is much calmer!” ~ Dudley

Juno’s Journey: From the Brink of Rehoming to a Life-Changing Bond
When life threw a series of overwhelming challenges at Geraldine in 2024, she wasn’t sure she could keep her Dobermann, Juno. Geraldine was grieving the loss of her husband, father, and
stepdaughter, while also caring for her son-in-law, who was terminally ill. Managing Juno’s reactivity during such a difficult time felt like too much to handle. Desperate, Geraldine reached out to Sharon for help. Sharon offered a compassionate, step-by-step approach, focusing on small wins and building a solid foundation of trust and understanding with Juno.
The Turning Point
A move from a rural home with a large field to a housing estate was looming—an especially daunting transition for both Geraldine and Juno. With Sharon’s guidance, Geraldine found a supportive kennel where she could slowly introduce Juno to the new environment. By the time the move happened, Juno handled the change remarkably well, walking confidently into the unfamiliar neighborhood and adjusting quickly to the new home.
Overcoming Triggers and Building Confidence
Juno, who once struggled with overwhelming triggers like people, other dogs, and even high-visibility jackets, made incredible progress. On walks, she was calm and composed, confidently observing her surroundings and proceeding at her own pace. She even welcomed new neighbors and visitors with polite behavior.
A Stronger Bond
Through consistent, patient training, Geraldine and Juno’s bond grew stronger. Juno learned to process her fears instead of reacting to them, while Geraldine’s confidence as a dog owner
blossomed. Life became more manageable, and the bond between them became an unbreakable source of comfort and support.
The Road Ahead
Though Juno still faces challenges – like getting in the car – Geraldine is committed to helping her overcome these fears with continued patience and training. Reflecting on their journey,
Geraldine says, “I’m so glad I didn’t give Juno up. She’s been my superstar through everything. I couldn’t have coped without her.”

From Last Chance to True Success: Koda’s Transformation
When D’anne began training with Sharon, her Dobermann, Koda, was unruly, constantly barking, and pulling so aggressively that he’d even caused her to land in the hospital. The situation felt hopeless, and rehoming seemed like the only option – until Sharon became
their last hope.
A Year Later, a Whole New Koda
One year later, D’anne can hardly believe how far they’ve come. Koda, once a chaotic whirlwind, is now calm, patient, and manageable. One of their biggest successes came when they visited a dog field and spent two peaceful hours at her partner’s workplace. Koda handled busy environments with ease, even patiently waiting in line at a pet store, walking beautifully to the car, and navigating the chaos of shops, cars, and people without a hitch.
Reflecting on their progress, D’anne says, “I have REAL hope now for our holiday in March! I just love this boy to bits and how hard he tries to navigate our busy world.”.
Help Your Dog Reach Their Potential
The Dobercademy Member Circle Q&A
Q. Is this just for problem dogs?
No. All Dobermann owners can benefit from this programme. Whether your dog is
reactive or not. Even if your Dobermann doesn’t have any specific issues, the training
will help you proactively prevent future challenges and strengthen your bond with your
dog. It’s about building a solid foundation of understanding and communication.
Q. Is it just for Dobermanns?
While this program is specifically designed for Dobermanns, the principles and methods
we teach are also relevant for other working, driven breeds like German Shepherds,
Malinois, and others. If you have a similar breed, you’ll still benefit from the training.
Q. Why is the programme a year long?
Solving reactivity doesn’t happen overnight. Changing how your dog feels takes time
and we feel a year of help & support from us is also a truly realistic timeline to help you
achieve your training goals.
This gives you the space to integrate changes at your pace, and build a relationship
with your dog that lasts.
Q. My partner’s not on board with this, what should I do?
We understand that it can be hard to get everyone on the same page, especially when it
comes to reactivity and fear-based behaviors. We offer support that goes beyond just
training your dog—we provide resources to help you manage your own feelings and
work through the stress that comes with owning a reactive dog. If your partner is
unsure, we encourage open conversations about the benefits of this approach and how
it can help both you and your dog.
Q: Is this program for me?
If you want to train your Dobermann with kindness, understanding, and
scientifically-backed methods, then yes, this program is perfect for you. Whether your
dog is reactive or just full of energy, we focus on positive reinforcement to address
over-arousal and reactivity.
Q: How much time will it take?
The beauty of this program is that it fits into your daily life. You’ll start with 15-30
minutes of training each day, and as you progress, it will seamlessly integrate into your
routine. It’s designed to be manageable without overwhelming you.
Q: What if I don’t know where to start?
No problem! Our step-by-step program is designed to take you through everything you
need to know. You’ll have access to video tutorials, written guides, and live support to
help you at every stage. You don’t need any prior experience to get started – we’ll guide
you through the process.
Q: How much does it cost?
We understand that finding the right professional help for a reactive Dobermann can be
expensive, which is why we’ve made this program affordable. With one of the world’s
leading Dobermann specialists, Sharon Chamberlain, you’ll receive expert guidance
throughout the year.
