We all dread a disaster happening….out on a walk, no one in sight, your dog enjoying an off-lead romp when suddenly a deer leaps onto the path and takes off and your dog with it! Have you trained for this? Will your training work? Strolling down a quiet lane and suddenly loose sheep around the corner!! Can you count on your dog’s ability to disengage and safely move away?
There are so many scenarios that we can pray never happen when we are out with our dogs, but in reality we see the posts searching for lost dogs all the time and we see news articles of farmers’ animals being chased or maimed by loose dogs. Nobody wants to be that dog owner. Your heart in your throat, hoping you will get them back before they are hurt or do damage.
It doesn’t have to be that way!
Even though Dobermann’s can have a strong prey drive, doesn’t mean that you have to struggle or dread every time you go for a remote walk in the woods or even down the lane. Our Prey Drive class is full of knowledge and training to help you first understand what prey drive is, where it comes from, why it is so deeply ingrained in some breeds and what you can do to meet your dog’s breed needs so that YOU can steer that prey drive into productive fulfilling training that will help them satisfy those needs safely.
Our full 8 week course begins on September 21st and runs for 8 consecutive weeks. Live Zoom sessions are held every Monday evening at 7:30pm GMT and are recorded for you to catch up or watch again. Our robust course is available for just £250 inclusive
High Prey Drive course includes:
- 8 Instructor led, live Zoom sessions that will teach you why prey drive is a struggle for Dobermanns, what it sets off in their bodies, skills to train so you are working with your dog, not at cross-purposes, how to take care of yourself when prey drive is limiting your joy with your dog and how to read and prepare for the environment so that you can help your dog through their excitement and arousal.
- 8 robust lessons in our Teachable school that provide further written, visual and video skills support for the weekly lessons
- Access to our private support page where you and the other students in class will have access to your trainers in a private space where you can ask questions, receive feedback on your videos and have peer support from others who are dealing with prey drive struggles as well. Our groups have been one of our best features in all of our classes and many have made great friends during their time training with us
- 8 weeks of “trainer in your pocket” support from your trainers which gives you real time access for questions as they arise so you can be practicing your skills correctly
Upon completion, all the materials are yours to keep so that you can continue to hone your skills with your dog at any time after the classes have completed.
